Protest for Mandatory Reporting?

one of the biggest and more re-occuring rebuttals to protesting at kingdom halls and assemblies is that it does two things: 1. it re-enforces the apostate "mentally diseased" narrative heaped on the xjw community by the gb 2. it causes people to withdraw and get closer to the borg.. what if we as a group took the protest to city halls and government authorities to raise awareness of the need for mandatory reporting laws, rather than protesting @jw events?
hell even geoffry jackson, when he gave his testimony at the arc, agreed that it would be "helpful".

@ScenicViewer Taking the protests away from the Kingdom Halls and assemblies would actually take the protest from a focus of hey this is a cult watch out to we need to change laws concerning Mandatory reporting. By doing that it takes religion out of the emphasis of the protest and more on change legal policies. -

What if we as a group took the protest to city halls and government authorities to raise awareness of the need for Mandatory Reporting laws, rather than protesting @JW events? Hell even Geoffry Jackson, when he gave his testimony at the ARC, agreed that it would be "helpful".
What are you thoughts? Would you feel more comfortable offering solidarity to actions like that?

@Mephis I agree and admitted early that the protests would re-inforce some peoples response to stay closer to the organization, however, I know of others who reacted just the opposite. So, in a sense I think your points have a measure of validity. I hope Derek pulls through as well. -

@JeffT Thanks for the historical context because for that specific instance that you are referring to is correct. However, Civil Disobedience, nor any kind of non-violent protest, are restricted to the size of a jail room, though admittedly your history is right account of the lunch counter protests. What did you mean by the Roman Catholic extremists, you kind of lost me on that one.

@OrphanCrow your question is: What specific law is being challenged by this person that you claim is acting in civil disobedience?
1. The first is the 2 witness policy for verification within the congregation. Though in this instance his tactic I admit would fall short.
2. The fact that there are no laws for mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse in a large swath of legal jurisdictions when confessed to "clergy", which needs to be changed. If mandatory reporting was a law and it was enforced, it would force elders to contact the police, otherwise they themselves could be legally culpable.
@Orphancrow As a side note, Even Geoffery Jackson agreed with this. Thanks for the question @Orphancrow and keeping me in check! Also, I would like to concede your observation that my example's were not entirely parallel. However, I would like to put forth that Henry David Thoreau, MLK, nor Ghandi restricted the idea of Civil disobedience to breaking a specific law to show its absurdity and that the idea of civil disobedience has a much wider context than a tit for tat violation of a specific law in order to change that specific law. As a result of your insightful question, perhaps I should have used another phrase such as "non-violent resistance" or something to that effect. I appreciate your response and question!
